Nicholas Constant Lemaire


Born 25 October 1757 at Orchies, northern France, Lemaire was a pupil of Jaquet-Droz and made singing birds. In 1795, with Glaesner, started a watchmaking factory at Versailles, which lasted until 1801. Lemaire died in 1832. (Ord-Hume, Musical Boxes, p. 315)
