Pattern Fig 16-1 lasted from pre-1835 to the early 1840.
The pattern transcended the change of name from Frères Nicole (Fig. 16-1) to Nicole Frères (Fig. 16-2) about 1839
There were minor variations to the border pattern as printing plates wore out after about 100 copies. There were also slight changes to the shape of the top and bottom cartouches. |

For an unexplained reason Fig. 16-2 (Bulleid´s 365) als has the letters NFAG for Nicole Frères À Genève and the S is missing from Frères.

Fig. 16A is a possible agency example, circa 1843.
Both (FIg. 16-4A and FIg. 16-4B) have similar framed borders with background of vertical lines top and bottom, horizontal lines to side borders. The assumption is that both are crude agency tunes sheets for Nicole musical boxes. |

FIg. 16-4B was unattributed by Bulleid but fits the style and date of Fig. 16-4A.
