Interchangeable Gloria Polytype

The Polytype was a later development in the production of cylinder musical boxes, in which individual tracks (or in this case individual cylinders) are pinned with distinctly different musical effects

.As might be expected for a musical box with stylistic diversity, the program is also appropriately representative, incorporating operatic motifs by Verdi, Wagner and Bizet, ballads (including "Robin Adair"), popular airs, dances and three American titles.

Four six-air cylinders, two combs of 55 and 54 teeth (both complete, extreme treble tooth of left comb replaced), twin zither attachments, nickel-plated mechanism, double-spring motor, safety-check beneath the bedplate, tune-indicator, tune-selector and speed-regulator, in veneered and banded case with original finish, inlaid brass and mother-of-pearl motif on the lid, tune-sheet and cylinder storage drawer in plinth, cylinders 13 ½ in. (34 cm), overall 33 in. (84 cm), cylinders cleaned, movement in good playing condition
