A superb ‘Sublime-Harmonie Tambour-Timbres’ musical box playing six airs, by Paillard Vaucher et fils, Serial N° 12621, circa 1874, playing works by Wagner, Strauss (II) and Meyerbeer, with single-spring motor, the twin Harmonie combs with combination single-section comb of 18-tooth
accompaniment of 9 tuned bells arranged on two tier buffet and 9 hammer drum both on separate lever-select with pointed crown strikers, on reeded cast gilt bedplate in ebonised interior under dustlid, with sepia and green gold highlighted tunesheet, in very fine fully inlaid case with sides and front of bookmatched yew, shaped boxwood stringing and ebony framing, repeated to the lid with dome profile, with cast gilt brass handles; accompanied by loose sheets written by H.A.V.
