The sheet also bears the original retailer’s labels for ‘Thomas Fox – Gold & Silversmith, Jeweller & Optician, Red Lion St, Aylsham’, who was according the label a ‘Practical Geneva & English Watchmaker’.

Nine bells engraved with flowers, all struck by bird strikers. The bells can be engaged and disengaged at will using the lever at the front left of the movement, next to the governor.

Housed in a lovely case with foliage inlays to both the front and lid, along with a mother-of-pearl butterfly accompanying the inlay to the lid. It also has stringing and tulipwood banding to the lid, front, and sides.
