Charles Valogne
V.L.G [no dot]
or
V.L.G. [with dot]
(Valogne)

There is little known about Charles Valogne apart from an address listed on the Rue du Grand Chantier in Paris. He was a clock maker and probably a retailer, rather than a manufacturer of musical boxes, with branches in Paris and later in London.

"Name on small quality cylinder musical box in the Guiness collection, New York, together with the serial number 1425 and a watch movement in the case front which discharges the music. Small 5-pointed stars are stamped into the bedplate round the name and serial number."
(Ord-Hume, Music Box, 1980,  p. 334)

Another box to have been recorded with the Valogne mark is in the Guinness collection.
