is credited with the invention of the "hidden hinge" on snuff boxes. Since Sandy had been bedridden following an accident in his youth. He died about 1820.


Charles Stiven of Laurencekirk, *?, †?, successor of John Sandy since 1820

took over the manufacture of John Sandy and the marketing of his design.
